Alt Text
Alt text is used to create a "hidden message" on a webpage. At first, when the mouse moves over a piece of text, image, or object with alt text nothing happens. But if the mouse sits over it for a second or two, a yellow rectangle appears by the mouse cursor with the alt text inside. In the example at left, the EarthChronicle.com heading has alt text.
